Estimated Installation Time
15–20 minutes
Installation Steps
Step 1: Power Down the Vehicle
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative cable at the factory disconnect point (VERY IMPORTANT).
- Allow the vehicle to sit for at least 5 minutes.

Step 2: Remove the Lower Dash Trim
- Locate the driver-side floor covering holding bracket. Remove the two (2) Torx T25 screws, then remove the driver-side factory floor covering.

- On the lower left side, locate the plastic panel that covers the left A-pillar and wheel well area (this panel includes the hood release handle).
- Unscrew the hood release mechanism by removing one (1) T25 screw.
- Remove the lower far-left dash panel.
- Remove one (1) T25 screw from the OBD port/hood release cover panel.
- Disconnect the OBD connector by clicking it out.
- Gently pull the panel to the right to release it.

Step 3: Locate the Ignition (EZS) Module
- The ignition module is mounted on the wheel arch support panel, secured with two plastic nuts. It has blue and white connectors attached.
- Gently and carefully release the connectors from the module.
- Use a plastic trim tool to pry the plastic nuts (along with the module) off the welded studs.

Step 4: Install the SprinterArmor™ Protection Shield
- Position the shield base over the ignition module.
- Ensure the wiring passes cleanly through the designated opening.
- Seal both wiring harnesses (just after the connectors) with the supplied flexible rubber electrical tape — gently wrap around and squeeze to seal.
- Position the ignition module inside the shield. Pay attention to alignment — the module should sit flush around the edge of the shield.
- Install the cover and gently press it in so the alignment pins seat correctly.
- The flexible TPU seal should compress slightly, forming a moisture barrier.
- Once the back cover is installed, install and position Water Shield on top of the module and align it with the top hole

- Install the supplied screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
- Install the ignition module assembly back onto the vehicle:
- Align the connectors with the blue connector side facing down and the white connector side facing up.
- Align the top blue connector wiring alongside the Water Shield Guard
- Route the wiring alongside the nearby CPC module.
- Install two rubber tape seals right on the studs, secure the Shiueld with two 10mm nuts on the corresponding studs using a 10mm socket.
- No excessive force should be required.

Step 5: Verify Fitment
Confirm the following:
- The shield is fully seated
- Wiring is not pinched or strained
- All connectors remain fully engaged
Step 6: Reinstall Trim Panels and Floor Mat
- Reinstall the lower dash panels.
- Tighten Torx screws snugly (do not overtighten).
- Reinstall the hood release mechanism.
- Reinstall the driver floor mat.
- Reconnect the ground cable at the factory disconnect point.
Step 7: Final Check
- Start the vehicle.
- Confirm normal ignition operation.
- Verify no warning lights or error codes appear.
Installation is complete.
Notes & Recommendations
- Be extremely careful with the wiring throughout the installation process.
- Never connect power, turn the ignition, or attempt to start the vehicle while the wiring is disconnected from the module.
- Verify the blue TPU gasket sits correctly in its designated grooves before installing screws.
- Verify Water Shield is correctly positioned and aligned properly.
- Check for mold or corrosion on the ignition module connection points. Clean any mold or rust before reconnecting.
- If an alignment pin is damaged during installation, the shield will still function correctly. The pins are used for positioning only and are not structural.
- Don't forget to wrap the cables with the supplied flexible electrical tape.
- Don't forget to install rubber pads on studs before installing nuts to secure the module.
- Do not overtighten cover screws or stud nuts.
- This product protects the ignition module from moisture exposure but does not repair existing wiring damage or active windshield/body leaks. Any ongoing leaks should be addressed separately.
